Toni Set to Perform at the 2009 Soul Train Awards Show

NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ — CENTRIC announces a prestigious list of nominees to be recognized in the Network’s first special, CENTRIC PRESENTS: 2009 SOUL TRAIN AWARDS SHOW. Grammy Award-winner Beyonce, R&B diva Keri Hilson, and soulful crooner Maxwell lead the pack with four nominations each. Hosted by Academy Award-nominated actors Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, the return of the Soul Train Awards promises to be a soulful music event acknowledging R&B music’s finest. Toni to Perform Star Spangled Banner

NEW YORK — THE NFL ON CBS, home of Super Bowl XLIV and broadcasting its Golden Anniversary 50th year of the NFL, continues its 2009 NFL season on Sunday, Oct. 25 (1-7 p.m., ET) beginning with THE NFL TODAY (Noon-1 p.m., ET).

THE NFL TODAY’s host James Brown conducts an interview with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who will be in London for the New England Patriots-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game, to talk about the NFL’s international plans, as well as other issues.

In addition to THE NFL ON CBS’s coverage from London, both countries’ national anthems will be aired. The Star Spangled Banner will be performed by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Toni Braxton, and God Save the Queen by award-winning British mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins.

Brown hosts THE NFL TODAY along with analysts Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Shannon Sharpe and Bill Cowher, NFL TODAY “General Manager” Charley Casserly, as well as Lesley Visser and Sam Ryan reporting.
