Pulse Roundup

With the anticipation that was built up for Toni Braxton’s new album, Pulse, it fell a bit short. On it’s first week of release Pulse managed to sell 54,000 and debuting at number nine in US Billboard 200 Chart. Pulse mananged to debut at number one on the US R&B/Hip-Hop albums. Pulse became Braxton’s fifth US top-ten album.

When released Pulse got positive reviews from most music critics including Billboard (favorable), Allmusic (4/5 stars), The Washington Post (favorable) & USA Today (3/4 stars),

Pulse has sold 145,000 copies in the United States as of April 11 2011.

Not a Centerfold

Singer Toni Braxton has revealed she turned down Playboy’s offer for the because of her sons. The 43-year-old was approached by Playboy to pose naked for their magazine and admitted she was tempted by the offer but decided to turn them down. Braxton told Access Hollywood that she ‘feels great about the offer’ but added: “They’ve asked me. I was really flattered. “I was going to say yes immediately, but then I said: ‘I have kids and they’re 8 and 9, and they’re going through the booby stage.’ “They’re noticing boobies. I don’t want their friends to say: ‘I saw your mum’s boobies in my dad’s bathroom!’”

Braxton Family Values Renewed

NEW YORK, May 10, 2011 – WE tv, the network devoted to showcasing and celebrating women and the relationships that define them, unveiled a robust slate of brand-defining programming today.

The 2011/2012 slate includes a second season renewal of the network’s popular original series, Braxton Family Values, starring singer/songwriter Toni Braxton and her four sisters – Tamar, Trina, Towanda and Traci – as they navigate the drama created by the relationships among them. Recently called “… guilty-pleasure gold” by Entertainment Weekly, the series is produced for WE tv by Magical Elves and will return with 13 all-new, one-hour episodes in 2012.

Rounding out WE tv’s schedule, the network also announced three brand new original series:
Amsale Girls profiles the personalities of the consultants and brides at the popular NYC bridal salon, Amsale; Texas Multi Mamas looks at the inner workings of modern families with multiple children; and The Willis Clan goes inside a family grooming their 12 children into extraordinary savants.
