Toni Lines Up Trey Songz

Trey Songz is living the dream. And part of that dream includes recording with R&B veterans like Toni Braxton.

The “I Need a Girl” singer has completed an official remix to “Yesterday,” the first single from Braxton’s new album Pulse, due out February 8, 2010 on Atlantic Records. The remix was produced by Troy Taylor, who has worked with Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston.

As it turns out, the “Un-Break My Heart” songstress was a fan of her 24-year-old labelmate before they collaborated. “[My publicist] told me that in a couple interviews she’s mentioned that I was her favorite male singer right now,” Songz told Rap-Up.com. “And that just took it to a whole ’nother level to be on a record with her.”

The “BET Live! 106 & Park” tour starring Trey Songz, Mario, Day26, and Sean Garrett kicked off in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Click here for dates.

Elsewhere on the song charts, two familiar names return to the top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. From its new album “No Regrets,” vocal group All-4-One logs its first entry in 13 years, as “My Child” arrives at No. 88. The band enjoyed multi-format success with the ballads “I Swear” and “I Can Love You Like That” in the ’90s. At No. 96, Toni Braxton bows with “Yesterday.” The singer, who last appeared on the chart in 2006 and shined on ABC-TV’s “Dancing With the Stars” last year, will release her Atlantic Records debut album February 8, 2010
