According to RTT News, singer Toni Braxton has signed an exclusive worldwide management deal with entertainment/production company The Collective.

The deal comes as the 44-year old singer and six time Grammy winner prepares to launch the second season of her hit WeTV reality series “Braxton Family Values.”

It is unclear whether the deal involves Toni returning to the music scene. In April while visiting BET’s 106 & Park, Toni told host Rosci she was uncertain about recording a new album and instead was focusing on being a mom to her two young sons.

Fans hoping to see Toni sing live again will always have Broadway. As previously reported, Toni will be returning to the Great White Way in the spring of 2012 to take on the role of Roxie Hart is the latest production of “Chicago.”

So how will Toni juggle duties as the star of a Broadway play and her own hit reality series “Braxton Family Values?” Well word has it Toni won’t actually hit the stage until the spring of 2012, at which time shooting for the third season of ‘BFV’ will have wrapped up.

Aaliyah, Still Missing You

aaliyah

Exactly 10 years ago, the world lost one of it’s brightest, most talented stars. Her name was Aaliyah Dana Haughton and her music and legacy still live on. Although Aaliyah was discovered at a young age, she wasn’t able to take her talent further due to her tragic death in an airplane crash in 2001. Although it’s been 10 years since the world lost Aaliyah, her music lives on and has a special place in my heart. I’m constantly listening to her timeless music. Some of my favorites include “Turn the Page”, “At Your Best (You Are Love)” and “The One I Gave My Heart To.” Watch Aaliyah’s “Miss You” music video featuring a special Toni Braxton cameo after the cut.

The Grammy’s Stay

Toni Braxton’s creditors won’t get their hands on the songstress’s six Grammys, under a deal that won bankruptcy-court approval this week.

Last month, Bankruptcy Beat blogged about a deal Braxton struck in her bankruptcy to ensure she gets to keep such prized possessions as the Grammys, Tiffany jewelry and 1995 Porsche 911. Court papers show that a Los Angeles bankruptcy judge on Tuesday approved the deal, which allows for the seizure of those same assets if Braxton doesn’t pony up $125,000 for her creditors.

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Inc., which hands out the Grammy awards each year, had expressed concern that agreement didn’t clearly recognize that the awards are nontransferable without its consent. But NARAS said it would hop on board if the deal clearly stated these terms, and the court order approving the deal does just that.

Braxton won her first Grammys in 1993 in the Best New Artist and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance categories. She won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance three more times–for the songs “Breathe Again” in 1994, “You’re Makin’ Me High” in 1996 and “He Wasn’t Man Enough” in 2000. And of course there’s mega-hit “Un-Break My Heart,” which won the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category in 1996.

The Chapter 7 case is Braxton’s second bankruptcy. The newly approved court deal will allow the singer to avoid the liquidation of such belongings as her household goods, furniture, clothes, books, jewelry, a life-insurance policy, a piano and a Porsche. The goods, however, remain subject to a lien by the Internal Revenue Service for unpaid taxes.

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Julez

After running ToniBraxtonWeb.org for a few years and making my return to webdesign, I thought that it might be important to introduce myself. I know most of you have no idea who runs the site, but often come here to check out and see what Toni Braxton or her sisters are up to. So I decided to put ToniBraxtonWeb.org on hold for just a sec and formally introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself and what I am about.

Toni Braxton to join Georgia Music Hall of Fame

cat_69

The Georgia Music Fall of Fame in Macon shut down this summer after years of poor attendance, but the entity’s lack of a physical structure hasn’t scotched the 33rd annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards. The show, you know, must go on.

This year’s honorees include Toni Braxton, the singer turned reality show star; actor-director Kenny Leon, and vocal coach and music mentor Jan Smith, who counts Justin Bieber and Usher among her clients. Other honorees will be the group Mothers Finest and promoter Paul Cochran. Jazz cabaret star Judy Argo will be honored posthumously.

“We are excited to continue recognizing Georgia’s outstanding contributions to the music industry and will continue the awards show as we have done for 32 years,” said Dr. Bobbie Bailey, president of Friends of Georgia Music Festival, Inc. “Our first ceremony was in 1979 when Ray Charles and Bill Lowery were inducted.”

The event is planned for 8 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. It will air live on Georgia Public Broadcasting.

Tickets start at $50. www.cobbenergycentre.com, www.ticketmaster.com or call 1-800-745-3000.
