On it’s first week of release Pulse managed to sell 54,000 and debuting at number nine in US Billboard 200 Chart. Pulse mananged to debut at number one on the US R&B/Hip-Hop albums. Pulse became Braxton’s fifth US top-ten album.

When released Pulse got positive reviews from most music critics including Billboard (favorable), Allmusic (4/5 stars), The Washington Post (favorable) & USA Today (3/4 stars),

Pulse has sold 145,000 copies in the United States as of April 11 2011.
